The Secret to Losing Weight for Good!
  • WATER: Drink a glass of distilled water each morning when you get up. This will start your metabolism.
  • Eat three to five servings (no fewer than three) of organic vegetables and at least two organic fruit's a day. Fruits and vegetables should make a large percentage of your daily diet.
  • Eat a large breakfast: Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. This meal should consist of Protein. The Protein will provide your body with energy and keep your metabolism active. You can have a wrap sandwich each morning filled with organic eggs and cheese. It will provide you with enough fuel and energy until lunch time.

  • Drink at least half your body weight in ounces of distilled water throughout the day. This will help flush out all the toxins and fat cells in your body. This is the best secret to losing weight. The water must be distilled or bottled water. You can install a filter on your faucet. If you are not a person who enjoys water here is a tip: I found that by buying the large bottle of water with the drinking spout, it will help you remember to drink your water. You can carry it around and keep it with you all day. Just keep refilling it with filtered water. Most offices have bottled water. Just keep refilling it at the office. You will be surprised at how easy it is to consume your required amount of water. When you are at home, fill a glass with ice and water. Slice organic lemons for a nice refreshing taste to your ice water. You will have all the following steps to help you lose weight. The water needs to help your body flush out and release the fat cells and toxins in your system. This is the most important weight loss tip to do.
  • Eat Organic grapefruits: Remember the grapefruit diet? Well there was some theory behind it. The grapefruit has enzymes that help burn fat faster. The more organic grapefruit's you eat, the faster you will burn fat. This is why drinking water all day is important.
  • Take digestive enzymes: Many people who are overweight have problems digesting their food. This will cause you to gain weight and feel very bloated, and constipated. The digestive enzymes help your body break down the food you eat. (I ran out of digestive enzymes and I did not take them for a week. That bloated feeling came back and I just didn't feel full of energy, what a difference.) I believe that this is an important step to take in your weight loss plan.
  • Eat Organic Apples: You remember the old saying "eat an apple a day keeps the doctor away". Apples are filled with a lot of fiber and nutrients. Apples will decrease your appetite. Eat as many apples as you want. I would use an apple slicer at work and snack on the apples most of the day. For dessert, take an apple and cut it in half. Sprinkle cinnamon on it and microwave on high for 1 minute. This will give you the warm taste of hot apple pie. Delish. I also use organic unsweetened applesauce. You can also heat it up in the microwave. You will notice that after you eat the applesauce you will feel full. Grapefruits, apples, pears, strawberries, blueberries, plums, peaches, and apricots. Make sure the fruits are fresh and not dried, as always make sure they are organic.
  • Stay away from bananas as they have a tendency to make you gain weight. If you must have milk with your breakfast, make sure it is organic and, ideally, raw milk that has not been pasteurized or homogenized.
  • Eat Organic meat, poultry and fish only: Organic meat and poultry do not have any growth hormones injected in them. Animals are injected with growth hormones to produce more meat. So it does make sense that if farmers inject a growth hormone to make animals fatter, and you digest this meat it will put weight on you also. You will want to consume state organic, grass fed, free range chickens. The difference in the quality of meat is huge. Chicken that are injected with the growth hormones are tougher and taste different. The first time I tasted organic free range chickens I was really surprised. The meat is so tender and juicy and tasted great. The chicken just melts in your mouth. The chicken costs a little bit more, but it was well worth it. My kids finished every piece. Try the chicken challenge and see if your family notices the difference.
  • Eat a salad with lunch and dinner: The salad has to be organic. I use the organic salad that is a blend of a variety of greens. Tip: At lunch time I would take a half a can of tuna* and mix it in my salad with organic apple cider vinegar. This alone is a lunch that will keep you satisfied. Now remember you can eat all the greens you want. As for the tuna fish, I found that imported tuna does not have any chemicals and fillers in them. The imported tuna is mixed in virgin olive oil. That is fine to add to your salad. The oil will keep your skin and nails in great shape. You could also use fresh organic lemons and squeeze the juice all over your salad with organic sea salt, fresh pepper and garlic. If you are in the mood for a sweet salad, combine apples and sunflower seeds to make a crunchy light meal.
  • Organic Apple Cider Vinegar: This is the magic ingredient to fast weight loss. You will be amazed at how you start losing inches so fast. It just melts off. Kevin Trudeau author of the #1 best seller of "Natural Cures" recommends taking a teaspoon of organic apple cider vinegar before every meal. I found this very difficult. So I added the organic apple cider vinegar to my salads to get in at least 2 Tablespoons in each day.
  • Walk at least one hour per day: If you are like me and hate to exercise I have a couple of tips to try. Take time after you get home from work or after dinner to walk in your neighborhood that will get you started. You will find that each night you are able to walk a little bit more and it actually feels great. Walking relieves stress. When you walk concentrate on your breathing. This gets your metabolism working faster. Tip: Get a tape on self improvement. Use your exercise time to refresh your mind and body.
  • If you want to cheat on a particular food, then do it. Sometimes if you deprive yourself from having something you want, you will cheat even more with other foods. So if you feel like having a piece of homemade chocolate cake, go ahead. You will find that you will still lose weight. You have all the other tips to balance it out with what you consumed for the day. When I have a piece of cake, I would have a salad before or after and apply a lot of apple cider vinegar to the salad. I guess my way of thinking is that the apple cider vinigar will wash away the chocolate cake.

THATS IT!

Ok every diet has it's do's and don'ts. So here are the don'ts!

  • No Caffeine: Caffeine will make you gain weight. If you miss your tea try a caffeine-free herbal blend made from lemon, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, or cranberry. Tip: Teas like Celestial Seasoning's Bengal Spice, Cranberry Cove, and Lemon Lift are very satisfying choices.
  • No Monosodium Glutamate (MSG)
MSG is an excitant. This chemical causes you to gain weight and also creates medical illnesses. It can be addicting, like aspartame, and actually make you hungrier. When you order chinese food ask for no msg.
  • No diet sodas or any diet food products
These products are loaded with chemical additives, that make you gain weight.
  • Cranberry Juice
Recommended brands of unsweetened cranberry juice are Lakewood 100% Organic, Mountain Sun, Trader Joe’s and Knudsen. Be sure to look for juice that has no sugar, or corn syrup.
  • No fast food
Fast food and chain restaurants put many additives and chemicals in their food to keep them fresh and tasting good. Eliminate the fast foods and you will lose weight. Tip: Watch the movie “Super Size Me” This movie will explain all the chemicals that are put in fast food. After you watch the movie, you will be able to bypass fast food for good.
  • No High Fructose Corn Syrup
This sweetener makes you gain weight and is physically addictive. You will be surprised how many brands and types of food have this added.
  • Natural Sugar include organic honey, organic molasses, organic fruit juice, organic dates, the herb stevia, evaporated sugar cane, Xylitol.
  • Xylitol, also called wood sugar or birch sugar, is used as a sugar substitute. Xylitol is a naturally occurring sweetener found in the fibers of many fruits and vegetables including, various berries, corn husks, oats and mushrooms. It can be extracted from birch, raspberries, plums, and corn and is primarily produced in China. Virtually all chewing gum sold in Finland and Europe is sweetened with xylitol.
  • No white sugar or white flour
White sugar will make you gain weight. There are sweeteners that are not fattening or a chemical, which are stated above. White flour mixed with water will make a paste, and is not digested properly. Use organic whole grain flours that have not been processed or stripped of the fiber. There are plenty of pasta products which are made with whole grain flour. Yes, you will notice the taste is different, but if you make great sauces with each pasta you will get a nice flavor. Tip: Preparing Brown rice with organic broccoli and "Lemon pepper" spice is a great side meal with organic chicken.
  • Dairy Products
Milk, cheese, and butter must be organic products that have been pasteurized or homogenized. All organic dairy products should be labeled “organic and raw.” If you cannot find these products, the next best option is organic, not homogenized, but that has been pasteurized. Do not consume any dairy products that are not organic because these are products of the animals which have been injected with the growth hormones. Tip: Test a clear glass filled with organic milk against a clear glass of regular milk, notice the color. The organic milk is creamy bright white. Regular milk is yellow colored and very thin looking. I put the test to my kids and no one knew which glass contained the organic milk. Each one along with the adults choose the white milk, they said it tasted creamy, and they all thought the yellow milk was the organic, in reality the pure white was the organic. The taste is great and filling. Take the Organic Milk challenge.
  • Eggs: Organic Free Range Eggs, once again try the test. The organic eggs are larger and the taste is great.
  • Spices:
    Lemon Pepper: excellent spice additive

Avoid hunger.
Hunger is one of your body’s strongest stimuli, and can be an evil challenger to your will power. Hunger is also relatively slow to subside, and can cause you to eat more than you intended. To break this hunger-overeating habit, always try to eat before you get hungry. Two different techniques can help make this easier to accomplish:
Eat smaller, more frequent meals. Instead of three meals per day, try eating five or six smaller meals. By eating more frequently, there will be less time between your meals, and less chance of you experiencing such intense hunger. As an extra benefit, there is some evidence that suggests that eating more frequently can also help raise your metabolism. Try eating every two hours, either a small meal or a snack. The idea is to keep your metabolism working.

Include more slow-to-digest foods in your meals. When it’s not possible to eat more frequently, make sure that your meals contain a mixture of nutrients. In particular, fats and protein are much slower to digest than carbohydrates. While most carbohydrates leave your stomach within about two hours, protein takes approximately four hours to digest, and fat takes as long as six hours.
Correct bad eating habits.

Bad Habits to Avoid
We eat not only for nourishment, but also as part of boredom. However, many people develop unhealthy habits that encourage overeating. Here are a few examples of bad eating habits that you should try to avoid:

Mixing food and entertainment. It’s easy to mindlessly eat a tub of popcorn, a whole bag of chips, or a carton of ice cream while you’re watching TV. Make eating a separate activity, and you’ll consume less.

Eating to relieve stress. There’s nothing wrong with taking pleasure from eating, but try not to use food as your primary stress reliever. Find other ways to eliminate stress (such as exercising, listening to music, or meditating) before eating.

Eating on the run. With the abundant availability of convenience foods, it’s easy to grab something from a vending machine and eat your meals in your car. But try not to make this a regular daily habit. Plan your schedule to include enough time to prepare and eat your meals in a quiet place, without the rush.
